Why I Paint
The spectacular Pacific Northwest has always been my home. I love to enjoy her natural beauty through outdoor activities including biking, hiking, sailing and skiing . Three years ago, having to curtail my activities and my teaching career for a while, I began to experiment with watercolors. I have been hooked ever since, gobbling up workshops and classes, gleaning wisdom from many local masters to develop my own style. The medium of watercolor takes on a life of its own, blending together to create my image. Color is used to express the emotions of my subjects which include nature, water scenes and historic buildings.
